Tullamore
Tullamore, the capital of County Offaly, is the third largest town in the Midlands and is a vibrant and enjoyable place to visit. Tullamore has good shopping, a variety of restaurants and pubs, and is an ideal base for golf breaks. The distillery and the town prospered throughout the 19th century and the Grand Canal, that connects Tullamore with Dublin, was the main thoroughfare through the town and vitally important in distributing its whiskey to wider markets.

Tullamore Golf Club is recognised as one of the best championship parkland courses in the country. Its mature parkland of oak, beech and chestnut, provides a beautiful setting for the game of golf. You are bound to enjoy the sand-based, undulating greens, lakes bunkering and mounding. Esker Hills is a golfing gem in a unique setting with 18 holes of challenging championship golf where no 2 holes are remotely alike. Esker Hills is noted for its distinct links feel, superb sand-based greens and warm welcome. Portarlington Golf Club is situated along the banks of the River Barrow. It is a mature parkland course and a test to play for golfers of all standards. Established in 1893, Birr Golf Club was originally part of the Estate of the Earl of Rosse, and is a wonderful undulating parkland course with several very challenging holes.
