Tullamore is the capital town of County Offaly, is the third largest town in the Midlands and is a vibrant and enjoyable place to visit. Tullamore has good shopping, a variety of restaurants and pubs, and is an ideal base for golf breaks. The distillery and the town prospered throughout the 19th century and the Grand Canal, that connects Tullamore with Dublin, was the main thoroughfare through the town and vitally important in distributing its the whiskey to wider markets.
